Daniel has been diagnosed with pre-B cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Leukemia is a cancer of the blood, specifically of the bone marrow which produces blood cells.
All of his quantifiable risk factors are positive, indicating that he is in the lowest risk category in every way.
Given his age, his response so far to treatment, and other medical criteria, we are looking at a cure rate (meaning no relapse ever, he goes on to live a normal life) of approx. 91-95%. To get to that point, he is facing three years of chemotherapy treament, which is already underway.
Daniel loves
skating on the backyard rink, his cats, chocolate milk, riding his scooter, playing video games, dance parties, and Swiss Chalet sauce, but not necessarily in that order.
